Boiler Descaling Made Easy: Follow This Comprehensive Instruction

Descaling Your Boiler

When It's Needed

Note: Before starting the descaling process, make sure you have the Fortador Limescale Remover and follow the safety guidelines mentioned in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Workflow

Preparation

Make sure the steamer is turned off and cool before starting the descaling process.

Ensure you have a suitable external tank for diluting the descaling agent.

Have 2.5 liters (0.66 gallons) of Fortador Limescale Remover and 22.5 liters (5.65 gallons) of water ready for the dilution.

Drain water tank to complete empty

Dilution

Mix the Fortador Limescale Remover and water in a 1:9 ratio. This means you should add 2.5 liters of the descaling agent to 22.5 liters of water in the external tank. Stir well to ensure proper mixing.

Filling the Boiler

Pour the mixed detergent (diluted descaling solution) into the water tank of the boiler. Make sure you do not pour concentrated detergent or water separately into the device.

Starting the Steamer

Once the diluted descaling solution is in the water tank, turn on the steamer and follow the manufacturer's instructions to start the descaling process.

Descaling process of Boiler

Allow the steamer to run at its maximum pressure (235 PSI or 295 PSI) for at least 60 minutes. It is recommended to run it for 90 minutes for better results.

1. Use all modes for steam hose to descale all system tubes.
Dry steam, Wet steam, Detergent mode, Dual vacuum hose steam, steam with detergent
2. Perform all pumps drain functions.

Draining the Solution

After the descaling cycle is complete, carefully drain the remaining descaling solution from the boiler and the water tank. This step is essential to remove the dissolved calcium buildup.

Allowing Overnight Rest

Let the boiler stay overnight (minimum 4 hours) with no operation. This resting period allows the descaling agent to effectively work on any remaining calcium deposits.

Flushing the System

Refill the standard water tank of the boiler to its full capacity.

Run the water pump with the boiler drain open for 5 minutes. This will flush out any traces of the descaling solution from all pipes and components.

Refilling the Water Tank

Once the system is thoroughly flushed, refill the water tank to its full capacity.

Clearing the Service Message

If your boiler has a touchscreen with a service message warning about limescale, follow the manufacturer's instructions to clear the warning using the provided procedure.

Safety Precautions

Store the remaining Fortador Limescale Remover safely according to the MSDS guidelines.

Avoid using the descaling agent for water spots removal on car paint, as it is not intended for that purpose.

Remember to always refer to the manufacturer's manual for your specific boiler model, as some boilers may have different descaling procedures. Regular descaling helps maintain the efficiency and longevity of your boiler while preventing potential issues caused by calcium buildup.
